These rugged and long lived indoor plants offer a wintertime fix for the insatiable hybridizing itch. This South African genus of six species has come a long way in the past decade. The glossy luxurious deep green leaves in themselves are therapeutic during winter and a stem much like an amaryllis blooms annually with a cluster of striking florets.
